Building condition analyses

Building condition analyses can be an integral part of a building inspection, or they can be independent and include major or minor parts of the building. They often only cover individual components in a building, such as the structural material, external cladding or external surface treatment.

Condition analyses generally tend to have a visual component and a material sampling component. We perform some of the material sampling ourselves; these include carbonation samples and chloride samples in concrete, moisture measurements in concrete and timber, surface measurements in concrete, etc., or even just simply determining the category of paint products. We send the more elaborate and complex samples to recognised laboratories for further testing.
