The owners of the Aas-Jakobsen Group (Aas-Jakobsen) have agreed to become part of Norconsult. 230 advisors, specializing in complex multidisciplinary infrastructure and building projects, will join Norway’s leading consultancy firm for engineers, architects, and urban planners.
“We are very pleased to welcome Aas-Jakobsen’s employees and customers to Norconsult. We have a long-standing relationship with Aas-Jakobsen and through years of collaboration, we know we share a lot of our values- centered on expertise, performance, responsibility and employee ownership. Our companies are highly complementary, and the addition of Aas Jakobsen’s capabilities will further improve our service offerings and strengthen our strategic position in key markets.” said Egil Hogna, Norconsult CEO.
Norconsult is strengthening its position within infrastructure, where Aas-Jakobsen is recognised both in Norway and internationally, particularly for its bridge expertise. This acquisition will also enhance the group’s ability to deliver comprehensive services for large and complex projects. The acquisition of Aas-Jakobsen is one of the largest in Norconsult’s history and marks a significant step towards Norconsult’s strategic ambition of becoming a top three position in the industry in the Nordics.
Aas-Jakobsen has delivered strong and stable financial results for years. In 2024, the net revenue was NOK 470 million with an adjusted EBITA of NOK 103 million.
Aas-Jakobsen comprises Dr. Ing. A. Aas-Jakobsen, Dr. Ing. A. Aas-Jakobsen Trondheim and Geovita, has been developing critical infrastructure since 1937 and is a leading consulting engineering company specialising in structural engineering, geotechnics, and engineering geology.
“Joining Norconsult marks an existing new chapter for Aas-Jakobsen- one that builds on our shared values and strong cultural alignment. It also allows our employees the opportunity to not only partner with best-in-class experts but also remain invested in the company’s future as shareholders” said Trond Hagen, Aas-Jakobsen CEO.
Integration will be planned in close cooperation with Aas-Jakobsen once the transaction closes. The integration process will be gradual with appropriate involvement focused on finding good solutions for relevant units, disciplines and groups of employees.
