One of the most important parameters for the design of infrastructure that is essential to society involves environmental loads. For long bridges, wind is often a critical environmental loads impact. This means that accurate understanding of actual wind conditions is important in order to design a structure with documented safety. Similarly, information on waves is important for structures which are submerged in the water.

Aas-Jakobsen has also up-to-date experience in specifying what measurements should be used to collect data which will be required in design work. We have provided specifications for data collection using anemometers, wave gauges, current meters and other meteorological instruments. We have also provided specifications for redundancy systems and measurement data processing methods.
